I've been quiet for about a week mostly because life got very intense around here. Last Thursday, the cardiologist told me I had to have an ablation procedure soon. Yesterday, I checked into Mercy Hospital to take care of my heart.
All sorts of things rise to the surface when you are told to have a medical procedure. Who do you tell? When do you tell the children? or do my parents need to know?
My first instinct was to have it done and tell no one. but then reality hit me. If something went wrong, Kris would have to deal with some very upset and angry loved ones. It's hard to show your vulnerability to your children after all we are supposed to be their source of strength. By letting them enter the adult circle, I showed them I respected and needed them.
Life hands you lessons but some days you get a full syllabus.
My heart is now unbroken beating in sinus rhythm and at a reasonable pace.
Life is good. Tomorrow will be better.
